Herdwick Camp is a cosy tented retreat in a high, private corner of the woods looking out over the hills and the dry stone walls of the surrounding farm. The camp was named after a local breed of ancient hardy sheep, Herdwicks.
The compost loo is in the same clearing and all facilities are only for guests of Herdwick. All around you is natural beauty, with the Lake District minutes away. Strike out from the camp into the hills or even take a gyroplane flight for a truly spectacular view!
There is a wood-burner for heating, but the interior of the hut is kept uncluttered thanks to the kitchen and bathroom just outside. The kitchen and bathroom are housed in a separate shelter, which can be opened up to give the chef or bather a unique feeling of being in the woods, or tightly closed if the weather turns.
There are hobs, a fridge and a bath with a shower attached, all gas powered, plus a fire pit for more traditional campfire cookery. Groceries can be supplied by your hosts. Simply order before you get there from the list provided and get a delivery of local, seasonal produce to your camp for your arrival. The clearing includes a fire pit for outdoor cooking
